Q: I have a client who is in a major depression/funk after our session. Does that happen? What can I do to assist her?
A:
Here's just a couple of reasons why clients might go into a "funk" after a session ...
1. They now realize just how mis-aligned their lives are to their Divine nature
2. They now fully recognize how they've been keeping themselves stuck BUT don't actually WANT to change anything
Remember, consciousness gives us both power AND responsibility ... and there are a lot of people who actually are terrified of the responsibility. It means THEY actually have to DO something ... and that scares them.
Depression means we are actually repressing feelings, usually of fear - because feeling our fear is super uncomfortable.
So usually with these clients, they are terrified of making changes in their lives, to the point where they won't even let themselves FEEL their fear. But because we can't selectively turn down our emotions, we turn down ALL emotions ... and that's what we call "depression."
You can't control which clients will go into this sort of state - nor is it your responsibility.
You can explain to a client who complains about being in a "funk" that they are most likely not allowing themselves to feel the fear and discomfort of moving forward in a new way.
The remedy, as always, is to TAKE NEW ACTION.
Of course, someone who is in a depressed state will tell you that they have no energy. This is how depression actually serves our ego in keeping us "safe."
If a client can get themselves moving, even if they are low energy and don't "feel like it" they usually will feel better.
